Amber stretched her new wings stretching out as she did, she undressed and then slipped into a silk nightgown which barely covered her womanhood. Something that skimpy would have been allowed, a one-piece bathing suit was frowned upon in her father’s world. Still it felt good to have the silk on her bare skin. She was about to go to bed when suddenly a ringing sound came from one of her bags, it was gospel music and she knew who it was. Her heart stopped for a moment as she looked at her bag, it was her bag with some of her human items. She had forgotten that the resort staff would send that to her room.
She walked over and looked at the phone, yes it was her father. She paused for a moment before answering the phone.
“Hello, Father.” Said Amber in her most respectful tones hoping that the transformation hadn’t messed with her voice. If it hadn’t her father didn’t notice.
“Daughter, I got a call from Pastor Robert and he has informed me that none of you girls have shown up at your bible camp for your retreat! Care to explain yourself?” inquired her father in a threatening tone.
“I am sorry Father, didn’t you get our messages?” inquired Amber as her heart rate picked up, this was only the third or fourth time in her whole life she had flat out lied to her father and it was making her nervous.
“What messages?” inquired her father
“Our car had issues on the way, we stopped to have it looked at.” Explained Amber telling the pre-planned lie. “The mechanic is working on it now, should be ready in the afternoon and then we will get back on the road again. We left messages with your secretary, Sorry Father we didn’t want to disturb you in your work and we had forgotten Pastor Robert’s and the camp’s number.”
“I see.” Said her father, his voice not as harsh. “I Need to talk to my secretary, if she can’t handle giving me simple messages then maybe she shouldn’t be working at all. She should just find herself a new husband and carry out her wifely duties.”
That caused Amber’s eyes to flare, her father’s secretary was a middle age woman who had been in their “faith” more of a cult in Amber’s view for decades. Her husband had just died, and she was now the sole provider for three young children. Her father wanted her to remarry after less then a year and move on from her husband without a care.
“Father, isn’t she preparing everything for that big convention next month?” inquired Amber as she tried to save this woman from her father’s anger, the convention was also where they where going to announce the engagement of herself to another powerful Paster’s son and unite their mega churches. Their fathers had even considered having the wedding there, however decided they could get more money having another special event 9 months later.
“Yes…I guess it could have gotten mixed in with all that work.” admitted her father “Very well, get some sleep and get to camp as soon as possible you need to prepare yourself for your role in the world.”
That made her blood boil if she was to prepare herself for her role in the world then why wasn’t he allowing her to finish her schooling, she was less then a year from finishing her four-year culinary school and graduating within the top 10 of her class. Culinary being the one form of higher education that her father would allow her to go in after high school, after because cooking was a woman’s duty after all as he put it. However once they told her she was going to marry the jerk the schooling was over, even saying it would look better at church events if a real chef had made the food wasn’t enough to change her father’s mind and her mother supported his decision for her. Her feelings didn’t matter.
In truth none of their feelings matters, aside from Jade’s parents who joined the church because it was an “unofficial” requirement for the IT job Jade’s father had taken all of their parents where true hard core believers in the faith. Jade’s parents had allowed her to go to school to follow her father in the field of computers and the freedom of a normal modern women but none of the others had allowed that. She had gone to Culinary school because she loved cooking and that was a womanly profession according to her father. Katie had gone toward education because that too was womanly as long as it wasn’t science it was and Molly had gone to nursing another womanly and therefor allowed field of study. However all three where expected to stop their education follow their husband’s wishes and maybe once the kids where grown they would be allowed to go back into the professional fields they where going to school for…maybe.
Yes, Father.” said Amber as she wanted to scream at him.
“Good, girl.” said her father as he hung up.
“Go to hell, you sexist bastard.” cursed Amber before smiling to herself, she almost wish her father was smart enough to know how to video chat so he could see what she had become. That would be something she wanted to see.
