Fall Break Exhibitions

added by makutamon 3 years ago O

The four-day weekend often referred to as Fall Break was considered one of the "lesser" breaks because of how short it was, but in Animalia, it was a big deal because there was going to be a private showing of the first Perry Platypus movie. While it was a combination of the "Agent P" parts of the Phineas and Ferb cartoon as well as the James Bond movies, there were some that were truly original and were inspired by Animalians abilities, some that no one had any idea of before the movie.

In one scene Perry had to swim through a network of underwater tunnels to get to a certain part of the enemy base. But because there were dangerous traps in that underwater tunnels and Perry's eyes, ears, and nose were sealed shut when he was swimming. But because of his electro-sensors in his beak, he was able to navigate the tunnels and get to where he needed to be.

Because of the idea behind a cross between Phineas and Ferb and James Bond, there were two scientists at HQ with codenames inspired by Phineas and Ferb. The original plans were to have them as grownups but the conversion from "animation" to "live action" didn't really go well. But there was one scene that have given a clue to who they were inspired on.

When Perry didn't seem to see the point of using a "revolving sofa" as a T&I chamber, one of them made a comment that not everyone who was watching the movie got.

"Would you want to be as close as this to certain people and their farts?" asked the scientist inspired by Ferb.

There was another scene that also made a reference to an earlier James Bond movie.

"Because of global warming," said the scientist inspired by Phineas, "we've been working to rework the iceberg boat. But it's not really fair that we can't equip it with a penguin launcher."

Because it was a private screening, the ones who watched it before it's official release were mainly the director and the actors who played parts in the movie as well as the Animalia Council and Animalia Ambassadoria. While most uplifted Animalians were unused to watching movies in the movie theater, there were some issues that were written down for future concerns/plans for Animalian-focused movie theaters.

There was also an exhibit inspired by the movie at the Great Hall that showcased both props from the earlier James Bond movies and which movie they were from, as well as exhibits on what parts of spy tech and spy missions were real and which were fake and/or only found in movies.

One thing that was a little surprising to find was which James Bond Gadgets were plausible and which were only possible in theaters.

One exhibit was on silk maps. While they were capable of being worn as a soft scarf, it was originally intended to be immune to water damage, tearing, and (surprisingly the most important) didn't rustle when used.

Probably what was the most unusual was an exhibit about all the girls in the James Bond Movie which not only showed fashion in the year they were released, but also showed spy "culture" of the times.

While there was some disappointment that some things that were thought to be real spy gadgets were actually confined to movies, there was enough "compensation" of spy tech being offered in the gift shop as well as the movie to be entertaining enough for fall break.
