Joanna made sure Will was following her as she made her way through the mall to where she had parked. As they passed the fitness store that had been a maternity store, she caught Will glancing inside, apparently a little envious.
Surreptitiously, she used the app to make a sentence about Will: "This skinny 13-year-old boy is ready to go home."
Joanna selected the word "skinny" and edited it, replacing it with "hot". When she looked up, she saw that Will was a few inches taller, muscular like a gymnast, and had a far more handsome face. But he was still obviously 13.
Again, Joanna made a sentence about Will: "This hunky 13-year-old is worried about being popular." Forgetting her pledge to not do anything to derail lives, Joanna changed "popular" to "father". Instantly she recalled how Will had lost his virginity at 12 and gotten the girl, Sarah, pregnant, and she and the baby boy, Calvin, had been forced to move in with Will and his parents. Now Will was learning how to be a dad at the young age of 13.
Joanna wondered if she should continue, or wait until she got Will home.
