Meanwhile, back on land..
Patrick, Damon's youngest stepbrother and the only one who didn't abuse him, was sad. Damon was missing. The young six year old boy went down to the beach. He sat on the shore, just Out of reach of the tide.
Patrick wrote a message and rolled up into a bottle. The young boy then threw it out into the ocean as far as he could.
The bottle went under. Then, as if by Fate, the bottle was seen by Damon's mother. The beautiful mermaid then opened the bottle and retrieved the letter. As she read the letter, she felt her heart break for the little boy she presumed was the writer.
The letter was a prayer, for his big brother Damon to return. Damon's mother knew she couldn't leave that poor child in such a horrible place.
Patrick was taken by surprise as a beautiful mermaid surfaced. "Hello there little one." The mermaid said in a beautiful voice. "Your really pretty." Patrick said innocently. "Thank you. I am here to take you to Damon, but for me to do that, you need to become a merman." She said.
"I'll do it." Patrick said without hesitation.
The mermaid smiled as she took Patrick into her arms and with magic, willed the tide to take them further out to sea.
Once out in the ocean, Damon's mother started singing. Patrick felt a tingling sensation overtook him. His clothes vanished as he changed into a merman. His tail was a sea green color as Patrick smiled. He then started to move it ways impossible for a human.
The mermaid smiled as she saw the look of absolute joy as she helped him learn how to use it.
She knew Damon would be elated to have Patrick as a brother.
She took him to the palace. There, Patrick and Damon had a tearful reunion as they hugged each other. Patrick was given his own room.
"Patrick, would you like to be part of our family?" The queen asked. Patrick's face lit up as he happily embraced his new mother.
