Just as James was beginning to accept the idea that Kayla may have genuinely placed a curse on him his attention was drawn to an attractive, big breasted brunette playing with her phone next to one of the stalls nearby. It was Lisa.
James hadn't seen Lisa for a good while now. The pair had casually dated for a while and seemed to have great chemistry before drifting apart for reasons he couldn't quite remember. Under the circumstances he felt like he could use the company of someone he knew and trusted and it wasn't like they had parted on bad terms. Hopefully this wouldn't be too awkward.
"Um, Lisa...Hi!" James was relieved he had managed to reintroduce himself without ribbiting.
As the girl looked up her pretty face thankfully conveyed pleasant surprise.
"Wow, hello stranger! Fancy seeing you here of all places!" Lisa answered "It's been a while!"
"Yeah, it's nice to see you, you're looking *Griiibit* well"
James hoped that involuntary frog noise wasn't as obvious as it had felt.
"Um, yeah I'm good thanks. How about you, you sound a little...off?"
Shit. It was.
"Um yeah I'm fine thanks. Just got the *gribbit* hiccups today"
"Really, you sounded like you were croaking?" Lisa giggled.
James contemplated telling Lisa a witch *might* have put a spell on him which *might* be turning him into a frog. For about half a second. Lisa was a smart, logical and cynical woman. He wanted someone he could rely on to keep him company until he was reassured this whole witches curse thing was as crazy as it sounded. He didn't want her thinking he had lost his mind in the time they had been apart.
"Yeah, I get pretty weird hiccups *griibit*" James lied "see?"
"Ok, whatever you say I guess" Lisa shrugged with a smile "You want to hang out at this crappy carnival together then?"
"Sure" James gratefully agreed.
