As Nicoola desperately scanned her surroundings for any possible escape route there was an ominous rattling from the entrance door.
"Oh shit!" Nicola mouthed to herself, instinctively aware that whoever it was that was about to enter wouldn't be someone she wanted to meet. Her heart pounding, she scurried in the other direction into the next room. Nicola didn't have time to appreciate the majesty of the large reception area she found herself in, but whoevers place this was must be important or powerful, she figured.
The reception served as an entrance to a number of side rooms with a large staircase leading to yet more of this ample abode. She couldn't be sure of what or who lay behind any of the side doors and there really wasn't time to make it upstairs without risk of being seen by whoever was at the entrance, so she crouched her curvaceous, naked self under a large, gold table. It wssn't the greatest hiding place - all someone would need to do was look down to find her, but she couldn't see any better options.
Nicola felt her heart beating yet faster as footsteps made their way down the hallway in her direction before coming to a sudden halt where Nicola had previously been stood.
"My new statue!" The authoritive voice boomed angrily "Where is it? That charlatan Meredith has swindled me again!"
Nicola gasped inwardly as she began to consider what could have happened. Had she been the statue? Had the other artwork in the hallway previously been real, living women like her? She just had to hope with everything she had in her that she could escape this place before she was found.
The footsteps started to become louder as their owner entered the reception where Nicola was hiding. She stayed perfectly still, held her breath and hoped for the best.
