"So which of us should go first?" Matt said. "I'm okay either way. It would be kind of cool to be transformed first, but it would also be nice to see a transformation before I was transformed myself."
"Oh, I was thinking neither of us would go first," Jacob answered.
"What do you mean? We both transform ourselves into things at the same time?"
"Close. We both transform ourselves into a thing. I've been skimming the user manual, and I found a part about how the Chronivac can transform multiple subjects into a single object. And if it combines two subjects together, it can make them into a larger or more complex object than it can with a single subject."
"Whoa. That's weird. But wait... if the Chronivac combines us together, does it... combine our minds, too? Like, do we become one consciousness? Or do we both keep our separate minds, but... can we communicate with each other?"
"I'm actually not sure of those details. I don't think the manual went into that much detail. Well... maybe it did, but I didn't read it that carefully. Anyway, it doesn't really matter much; we'll make the transformation temporary anyway, so no matter what happens to our minds during the transformation we'll be changed back in the end."
"Okay, I guess I'm game. The only down side is that we don't get to see the transformation take place."
"Oh, I thought of that too." Jacob gestured toward two corners of the room. "I set up video cameras to record the transformation."
"What? Have those been recording the whole time?" Matt hastily tried to cover himself. "Dude, I'm naked!"
"Hey, I'm naked too! Besides, the recordings are just for us to view later. It's not like they're being livestreamed or anything."
"Oh, that's a neat idea. Why don't we livestream the transformations? You're pretty good with tech; you could do that, right?"
"A second ago you were panicking about being filmed naked and now you want the video to go up on the internet?"
"Well, being randomly filmed naked is one thing, but just the transformation... I think livestreaming that would be cool."
"If we were going to do a livestream, we really should have announced it in advance so people would know to tune in."
"Well, it's going to take us a while to decide what to turn into. We could announce it now."
"I mean like at least a day in advance. But yeah, all right; I guess I could say we're going to livestream in... an hour? That should give us enough time."
"Yeah, go for it, dude."
Jacob sat down at his computer, still naked, and posted the announcement about the livestream on a few relevant sites. He then connected the equipment and set up the timer to get the livestream ready.
"Okay, it's all ready to go. Guess we'll be streaming this after all. Now we've got about forty-five minutes left to decide what we're going to transform into."
"That's not going to be easy," Matt said. "There are so many choices."
"Well, maybe it'll be easier if we pick a general category and then narrow it down."
