Since the last week of November was also the infamous Thanksgiving week, preparation (especially food preparation) moved into high gear. While most of it took place in the Great Hall kitchens, there were a few things that took place outside the kitchens that were both humorous and serious.

Kiya and her family had stopped by to drop off their turkey for preparation for the meal when they met a reporter from National Geographic. That reporter was interested in Kiya (who was from Africa) encountering and killing a turkey (which wasn't native to Africa) for the first time. Ace didn't mind stopping to chat with the reporter while Brittany dropped off the turkey at the kitchens.

There was also an amusing thing with Mercy going on during her training for the Rhino Guard, Stealth Division. She was attempting to show the head of the Stealth Division some of her stealth skills involving getting into a secure location, but had unfortunately gotten stuck during one of her demonstrations due to her now larger behind. While it was to be expected (as she thought in retrospect) it was still a little embarrassing. After she had finally gotten unstuck, the Animalian running the test said, much to her relief, "Let us never speak of this again."
She was also having a little difficulty focusing on her flying lessons because the one Animalian who was in charge of flying lessons for bat Animalians also was a bat Animalian. The good news for that was that he was a different species from her own so there wasn't a chance of them "hooking up". The bad news was that his species was Golden Crown Flying Fox, and the term 'giant' not only carried over to his physical size, but also to his musculature and... 'build'. If she hadn't known any better (which she did), she'd think that she had just started her heat cycle.

There were a few things that was moderately funny that was actually from the Chilly Cook Off at WSA. There was one guy who was at practice and only just remembered that he was missing it, and whining about it like Homer Simpson. Another guy tried to use California Reaper Peppers in his chili as a means of pranking someone back who had pranked him earlier in the month. But because that person was a bird Animalian, and he had either didn't know about birds being immune to capsaicin or put a little too much Reaper Pepper in there and was seemingly 'burned' by his own prank.

Because pies and similar baked goods were often associated with Thanksgiving, there was a bake sale arranged to go on during the main feast. While the largest amount of the baked goods were from the bakery section of the Great Hall kitchens, there were those who were doing "cooking lessons" there whose baked goods ranged the entire spectrum from 'close-to-restaurant' level to 'kooky cooking' level.
"Those new mares are getting a little less sloppy with their whipped topping." commented one Animalian who was reviewing the pumpkin pies and remembering the first time they tried baking. They made somewhat decent pies, but got distracted by Archie passing them by and ended up making a big mess with (not to mention wasting most of) the whipped cream with a whipped cream version of a silly putty fight, not to mention having to send the clothes they were wearing at the time to a local drycleaner.

While Thanksgiving was on a Thursday, it didn't mean that there were Thanksgiving-themed laughs going on.
