You silently will the ring to swap you and Mrs. Robin/ Mary and before long both of you fall to the pavement and black out. You regain consciousness in Mrs. Robin's body and look over at your mother's body to see it begin to stir, "I gotta move fast so she doesn't swap us again" you say to yourself as you get up from the pavement and try to take the ring off your mothers finger. However before you could take it off, Mary grabbed your hand "No! I don't wanna be mommy! give me my ring back!" she said angrily and tried to put it back on. "You little shit, that's not even yours!" you say as you finally pull it away from her but not before Mary said "I wanna be the crossing guard!". Your mothers body falls to the ground as you slip the ring on and turn your attention to the crossing guard who also fell to the ground, "shit, that crossing guard looks like he can catch up to me quickly, and if Mary is now inhabiting his body she can easily steal the ring back" you say as a group of kindergartners come walking past you to get on the bus.
You need to consider your options, here especially since Mary is starting to stir. Maybe you can out run her? You did have a head start and Mrs. Robin could run for a while. Or maybe you could swap with one of the kindergartners walking onto the bus, Mary wouldn't think to check all of them for the ring. Maybe you could swap with one of the parents driving there kids to school? Mary can't catch up to a car even with the crossing guards body.
