You sit down, enjoying the movie with your new friends when you notice that it's playing in Hindi and you forgot to turn on English subtitles, you are about to get up when you notice no one seems bothered by this. Sitting back down you shrug and decide they must not care about not understand it.
The time goes on and you begin noticing some strange things about the other girls, those with lighter hair seem to now possess slightly darker hair. Your... sis... new neighbour... or whatever... now has dirty blond hair instead of the light blonde you are pretty sure she had earlier.
You are brought out from your thoughts both by your headache and the fact one of the girls has walked out of the kitchen, her skin seems darker than before and she carries and tray of traditional Indian foods which she sets down.
"I didn't no you made Indian foods." You say, almost speaking in Hindi but stopping yourself and instead responding in accented English.
The girl just smiles, her features of her face seem to slim and change slightly as they do, almost even getting slightly darker as well "Just a little something to remind us... I mean you of home Ruhi!" She asks with a hint of a slight accent. The food looks too nice to question how it got here and so you pick up some and begin eating with the others soon joining you.
"Thank you for showing us this Ruhi, I can't believe I've never seen this movie before" Your 'sister's' voice comes out sounding accented, and you swear at least one of the words she spoked was in Hindi, looking at her she seems much more tanned and her hair looks almost black.
"It's no problem A... Amber." You say although something about her name seems odd to say now, "These movies probably aren't as common here as in India."
"I know, but I wish I have seen it back in India" She comments as her accent grows more pronounced and you are now sure she said at least half of those words in Hindi.
"You've been to India before Aaral?" You ask, the name which slips out seems familiar despite it being incorrect. You expect her to be confused and correct you but instead she brushes past the incorrect name and respond "Uh... I think so. A while back." She says starching her now black hair.
You look around and find the room is now filled with Indian décor you didn't notice earlier, picking up a small Indian made pot you comment "This is where you must have gotten this."
"Oh yeah, just something from back home... I mean.." She says shaking her head, most of sentence was said in Hindi which only sparse accented English.
You don't comment on her confusion and instead smile at a picture of a festival similar to the one you had in your room "Oh this from last holi we went to" you comment to your confusion. How is that possible? This is just a disguise and that girl is your... your old friend you think... sister comes to mind.. Yes you are like sisters...
You look around and see all the girls have gain skin of a similar tone to you and their hair has often darkened. Smiling you comment "It is so great to spend some time with all your girls" You speak in Hindi as you look around to find the entire room now decorate in Indian furniture and décor. A part of you finds this strange and wants to question it but another finds it normal and what you expect.
Aaral smiles and ushers you back "And there is no better way to spend time with you Ruhi than watching our favourite movie" she says, no completely in Hindu. Wait didn't she say that she hadn't seen this movie before. Snapping out of your trance you realise something strange is going on but not sure what.
