"Here you go!" he said holding the purple shoelace out to her.
"What is this?" She said.
"This is how we hide you from the boy!" Roly-Poly said with a big grin on his face. "He'll never even know you were here. Just hold it tight and say "Out of sight, out of mind" to get started.
She took the shoelace and looked at it and shrugged. She knew it was unlikely to actually help, but she'd humor the cute little guy. Grasping it tightly, she looked at Roly Poly and smiled. "Out of sight, out of mind," she said softly.
Instantly she felt a tingle in her hands, and then she felt a dizzy, woozy feeling. The words echoed in her head. "Out of sight, out of mind." it said, then a giggle in her mind was followed by adding a few new bits to the mantra. "Out of sight, out of mind. On his feet, on the floor, the boy won't see you no more!" it giggled, and she giggled out loud at the absurd thought.
"What's funny, dear," He asked, fully aware.
"Out of sight. Out of mind. On your feet. On the Floor. Boy won't see me no more!" She said happily, and then the tingles spread through her entire body. A glow began to cover her body and Roly Poly watched as it began to get smaller, while her t-shirt hung on her, so much larger than she was now, her leggins dropping to the floor. She slid out of her sandals and tipped forward, into her shirt, which covered her almost entirely. Roly-Poly chuckled and took the shirt off her and saw a wild sight. The girl's face had begun to stretch out, the mouth open wide. The rest of her body was squashed almost flat underneath her stretching jawline, and it waddled around as a laugh came out and an attempt to repeat her new mantra, but it was unintelligible, but he knew the words were on repeat in her dimmed mind.
Her arms and legs began to disappear, and her hands and feet began to fuse into the basic bit of flesh she had become. Her teeth seemingly vanished, and inside her mouth, it felt dry, but also soft and smooth. Her skin began to take on more of a fabric look while it changed the tone from a pinky flesh to a slightly darker purple than the shoelace that was now wrapping its way around her changing face. It found it's way into the fabric that was now her body, and wove itself, pulling her lips higher into a place to place a silly clown foot. As the lace tightened, the form glowed again, and when the glow ceased, there sat a large clown shoe. At the tip was a smiling face of a human girl with big teeth grinning up at him. He smiled and tapped the shoe with a magic wand he retrieved from his bag and the shoe began to shake and split into two, giving him a pair.
He had already taken off his regular pair and placed them in the box. "Open wide" he giggled and slid his very large feet into the shoes. They stretched out as his feet settled into the new footwear.
Jenny felt overwhelmed with joy at the sensation of his feet filling her new fabric-lined insides. The toes wiggled, which made her laugh, which happened out loud. "Woah! I can still talk!" she said, her mind clearing up a bit.
"I like my shoes with character! And besides, as I said, he won't even know you are here." said the clown as he cleaned up her shirt, pants, and sandals, tossing them in the nearby trash bin. He then slid back into the booth, set his bag down and kicked his feet up on the table, letting the shoes show off a bit.
"Wow, this is a very strange perspective," she said.
"I am sure. Hush now, I think the boy is coming." he noted.
Indeed a befuddled looking young man popped in and looked around. "Can't believe I lost her again. Hey, you see a girl come through here, t-shirt and leggings? real cute?"
"Doesn't ring a bell" he said wiggling his toes in the shoes, which almost made her giggle, but she kept her cool as the annoying ex walked out of the area, and she was in the clear.
"Oh my god, it worked, he had no idea I am right here."
"Why would he? He's looking for a girl, not an excellent pair of sneakers like yourself!"
She giggled and thought for a moment.
