Scared for anyone nearby Catherine slunk into the alley. Sadly for her however her city didn't have a ton of heroes, and there happened to be someone who could be considered a villain after her soon.
The Collector was what most would call a poacher. Legally he considered himself a "Collector of super animals that would destroy ecosystems and surrounding civilizations." There was some truth to that, and his actions had helped ecosystems and surrounding civilizations by removing animals that had super powers of sorts. That said anyone who saw the living condition of his collection would in fact call him a poacher. With some of the collection going towards gear creation, some of his collection going to selling to the highest bidder, and some of his collection just staying in his collection. Turning down an alley he saw what seemed to be some sort of beast emitting so many flames it was impossible to see what it was. The Collector got out one of his tungsten jars and activated his power and suddenly the inferno turned into candle which simply required him to walk over and slam his jar over, and seal it. The Collector grinned thinking about all the free power he could get.
After being shrank and put in the jar Catherine just knew she was kidnapped and being brought somewhere. Her fire let her see inside, but it was a featureless jar that was containing her fire. There was some shifting and bumps, but eventually she just went to sleep. When she woke up she was still burning, and above her... was a giant vat of boiling water!.. wait would boiling water do anything worse than normal water against her? She was after all cloaked in flame, but it's water right? Looking around further her "cage" seemed to be completely sealed in glass. The glass didn't seem to melt from her flame, and outside... There were a lot of cages with so many exotic animals. Also in the middle of the room was a man sitting in a chair watching something on a monitor. Catherine shouted but her cage was airtight and her sound didn't get out. She banged on the glass, and the man turned and grinned seeing his creature alive and kicking.
The Collector noticed against the glass the creature he had nabbed was actually a woman... a nice looking woman at that... Whatever, where his collection was there was no law against holding humans captive like animals. No real laws at all really, and she was providing a nice amount of power with his steam generator and was nice to look at in general as well. Now back to the entertainment while the robots did most of the maintenance and made his supper.
Catherine tried looking around her "cage" trying to find some way out. There was a tiny vent that seemed to be blasting oxygen in and another tiny vent that seemed to be sucking her flames and probably all the smoke and co2 out. Too small for a mouse to fit in let alone her... There wasn't any food or water... or way to get food or water in... Considering her heat could she even eat in this form?!? Another reason to try and figure out how to get out and turn off this power. But what could Catherine do?
