You are a 12 year Boy Scout sitting on a bus along with your scout troop as it drives through the forest surrounding Ravenwood. One of your activities called for a nature trek and the normal area which this would be done was closed for clean up or something. But luckily for your troop, a summer camp known as Ravenwood has volunteered its grounds to the scouts organisation and so now you and your troop will be spending weekend over there.
“You excited for the camp Kyle? I heard we’re almost there” Asks a fellow Cub Scout, causing you to stop gazing out the window and instead turn your attention to him.
Giving a smile you respond “Really? Cool” as you begin to make some small talk for the final duration of the trip. Before you know it the bus stops and you’re all ushered out
A young woman stands next to your scout leader as he begins to addresss you all.
“Alright scouts line up. I want you all on your best behaviour, these people have been gracious enough to lend is their land free of charge so I want you all on your scouts honour to be respectful to their generosity”
The young woman, who appears to be a counsellor given her outfit, simply giggles at your leader’s strictness as she gives her own address.
“Welcome campers... oops sorry, I mean scouts” the slip is ignored both due to politeness and also because it’s assumed she is simply used to welcoming campers “weelcome to Ravenwood Summer Camp. Our counsellors already have everything set up for you all. I hope you enjoy your time here, Ravenwood is guaranteed to bring life changing adventures”
Your scout leader nods and thanks her once again before marching you all into the camp. As you are marched inside you can’t help but notice that you can’t see any other boys in the camp. You reason that this could usually be a girls’ summer camp or something. Whatever the case is you shouldn’t question it, like your scout leaders says, you need to be thankful for the generosity of these people.
