Now it's time to party. Jim couldn't believe his luck: he was now completely shrunken. He put the balloon in his pocket for safekeeping, knowing he could always restore his height whenever he needed to.
He then contented himself looking around the room. He found a few of his shoes and managed, with some difficulty, to climb up onto the laces. He leaned over and looked inside the shoe, but he was careful, knowing that if he slipped he might not be able to climb out. He walked over to his desk and found that there was nothing he could do: even the chair was far too high for him to climb up. At his desk, all he could do was look around.
He noticed his bedcover draped all the way down to the floor. Perfect! He ran over and started to see if he could climb all the way up. He found that the fabric was smooth, even at his tiny size, but he was able to grab on tight and make his own handholds and footholds. Soon enough, he was on top of his own bed, a tiny man running around.
"JIM, COME ON, WHERE ARE YOU?" Just then his nine-year-old sister Judy walked in. Shit! He forgot he was supposed to be watching her for the afternoon until his parents got home.
For a moment, all conscious thought left him as he stared up at his little sister, now a titanic giant. Everything about her seemed absolutely massive, and, dare he say it, powerful. It was a wild thought. His heart was pounding in his chest.
Fortunately, Jim had just been admiring the giant pillows on his bed. Judy was looking in the direction of his desk, expecting him to be there, so Jim could easily sneak under a pillow and remain hidden. Or he could mess with Judy, knowing that he always had the balloon whenever he needed it.
