The December Issue of Animalia Magazine was special not only because it included many informative articles, but also because it had a miniature version of a mail-order catalogue for products and services found in Animalia. But that wasn't the only thing that was in the magazine.
---
There was a list of foods that were often eaten at Christmas dinners, such as ham, mashed potatoes, etc., and special recipes that adapted them for Animalians, as well as which recipes were safe for Animalians to consume.
---
Probably the one that had the most attention, for Adi at least, talked about the origins of the various holidays in December and where certain traditions for said holidays originated from. It was a little confusing that a lot of "Christian" traditions actually originated from a "pagan" religion called Mithraism. But as one student at WSA put it, "Mithraism was so accepted during ancient Roman times that when emperor Constantine legalized Christianity, he merged many Mithraic traditions with Christianity to make the transition easier."

Another amusing article talked about how certain ornaments on a Christmas tree got started, as well as some unusual traditions tied to certain kinds of ornaments. One such unusual tradition was tied to an ornament shaped as a pickle, which was put on the tree last in a hidden place as a way to encourage children to view the decorated tree instead of rushing straight to their presents.
Another part talked about Christmas tree decorations that were no longer used. One such "traditional" decoration was real candles on the tree, not just for the fire hazard but also because of the potential damage to floors, not just Christmas presents.
---
One unexpected article talked about dinosaurs that were more likely to be known by dinosaur "aficionados", but weren't "household names" like stegosaurus, tyrannosaurus, etc.. Two of them that helped raise awareness for these "obscure" dinosaurs were Miko and Aggie who were Gigantoraptor and Therizinosaurus Dinotopians, respectively. The article explained that the reason why many of these dinosaurs were "obscure" was the facts that some of them were discovered in places that weren't easily associated with dinosaurs, and some of them were only recently discovered.
---
A final article talked about Anastasia Romanov and her diamond pendant. It was now officially recognized as worth $500 million, and the article included the reasons why it was now worth that much. This not only included the supposed history behind the pendant; the cut of the gems originating in the mid-19th century; the purity/quality of the gems; the simple fact that there wasn't enough paperwork to verify it as either a replica or the real deal due to the Bolshevik Revolution and the Russian Civil War; and the notoriety it gained due to being targeted by the thief that's now known as Mercy.
This last one was also explained in a similar way that, part of the fame/notoriety of the Mona Lisa came from the fact that it had been stolen. Because there were many that didn't know about this part of the Mona Lisa's history, that helped explain it.
There was also a (completely fabricated) story done for a laugh that the reason why Mercy was caught due to a "pratfall", as those on the Animalia Site now called it, was because the pendant was supposedly cursed. In the story, after being overthrown and executed, Tzar Nicholas II cursed the pendant with his dying breath. The curse, supposedly, was "As long as my family's pendant is not with it's rightful owners, anyone who owns it shall suffer utter defeat, as Napoleon did!". It then went on to say that the first to fall victim to the curse was Vladimir Lenin, who had pocketed it during the storming of the Peterhof Palace. The next famous owner of the pendant was Adolf Hitler, whose officers had seized it after they had won the battle of Kiev, where the pendant was kept for "safekeeping", and presented it to him shortly before Germany's fall in WWII. It then followed with a number of (fabricated) famous owners who had fallen victim to the curse, from popular actors and actresses who suffered complete ruination of their careers, to simple mailmen who simply transported the pendant to new owners, and suffered fatal accidents. The final "victim" who suffered complete ruination was Richard Nixon, who had purchased it intending it to be placed in the Smithsonian, but fell prey to the Watergate Scandal shortly afterward. Mercy was the last confirmed victim of the curse, but got off lightly because the pendant was now with (what it felt) was its rightful owner.
At the end of the story there was a paragraph that let everyone know that the story of the curse was completely fabricated by the people of the SCP Foundation, using parts of stories about real cursed gemstones.
