You are a typical 18 year old guy named Max, living in a small apartment with your roommate. You are walking across town one day when you encounter a new store which has just moved into town, curious you walk into it and begin having a look around.
The small store is filled with a variety of strange and exotic items. Weird potions, wands, dusty totems. You wonder if this is some kind of prop store or something.
At the counter is an old man who seems to have only just noticed you, he beckons you over to him.
"Ah welcome young man. Welcome to my humble place of business" his hoarse elderly voice echoes through the room.
"Uh... hello, sir. I was just passing by when I noticed your store here" you explain as you continue to look around at all the odd items for sale.
"Well please look at anything you like" he says, before going back to dusting the counter.
Looking around you wonder about what you could get. If anything. You begin looking through the books, briefly peeking inside to see if anything is interesting. Soon you note that one non-descript book seems entirely empty, you pick it up and bring it over to the owner.
"Uh this book doesn't have anything in it" you comment, confused.
"Huh?" He asks, before eyeing the book and seems to gain a look of realisation "Oh, OH. You seem to have found the Diary of Reality. Anything you write within it becomes the truth, no matter how far it is from it" he explains, bringing you even confusion.
"Uh.. sure... you know what I better get going" this guy was clearly senile or something, reality altering diaries? That's crazy. You leave the empty book on the counter and begin making your way outside.
"Well whatever you say. But as my first customer please keep the book. A small gift if you will" he says to you as you leave. Not willing to stay around here anymore you simply quietly agree to the proposal and make your way out of there.

"Well that was something" you mutter as you walk through a park. Taking a seat on the park bench you look at the diary which you still hold onto.
"That man was crazy... although it might be kind of fun to mess around this thing" you decide to humour this idea, if only for the laughs as you currently don't have much to do today. You take out a spare pen from your pocket and open it up. The first page asks for it's owner's name, prompting you to simply write down your own.
The next is some basic rules of this weird joke book.
1. The mind will not be affected unless directly specified
2. Words may affected both people and the world
3. Only the current owner of the book may write within or transfer ownership
Those seem to be the three basic rules of this thing. Not that it matters much since it's not real. But you do suppose that if it were a real thing then those rules seem to make sense.
Then on the next free page you think of something to write.
"Hm.... what to write..." you think. Before thinking of something and laughing to yourself as you write it down.
'I have a hundred dollars worth of twenty dollar notes within my left pocket right now' is what you dot down. Suddenly you feel a weight in your pocket. Startled you look inside, only to find a series of twenty dollar notes within your pocket. Looking around you begin counting them, they add up to one hundred dollars.
"Oh my god... that man was right.." you can barely believe it but the evidence is right their in front of you.
"This... this is amazing, I could have all sorts of fun with this thing" you muse, this is certainly one way to spice up a boring weekend. Looking at the diary you consider carefully on how to use it.
