"The anatomical structure of the creature's brain is practically identical to that of a human. If we flash it with a functioning human consciousness, I'll secure more than just my job, I'll be a scientific hero!"
John dropped a small puzzle from his hand. "No way! You are not putting my inside of that... thing?!"
"No, god no. Don't take offense but I would never risk my career on the consciousness of a janitor. Controlling a non-human body will probably be challenging and I am clearly the most qualified person in the room." As she spoke, the doctor started to shuffle around the lab. She pulled several large machines over and positioned them near the creature.
"Alright. What do you want to pay me for then?"
"I'm won't become famous if I walk out of this lab in that body. I'd probably get shot!" The doctor flicked a switch and the machines started to hum. "However, if I am there to introduce my creature, I will become world renowned overnight."
"How are you going to control the creature and present it to an audience at the same time?" John asked.
"I won't. You will! If we swap consciousnesses, you can transfer me from your body into the creature and then wheel me out in front of my colleagues tomorrow. As soon as the conference ends, we can start the machines and put us back in our original bodies."
