"Nicola, wait! Come back! We can't risk getting into trouble! Think: if either of us breaks something, then-"
Nicola called down the stairs in response. "James, we need to find out a way to get out of here. What about our friends? Our families? We need to get back to them somehow. I'm just going to look around, get my bearings, and figure out what I can. That's it."
James, however, saw things differently. "We don't know how powerful any of this stuff may be. We don't know what any of it does. What if just by looking at it, we make it go off? What would Elspeth say? What would she DO?"
Nicola didn't respond, currently too preoccupied with searching the upper levels of the home. James sat, sensing very little good in attempting to reach out to her any further. She clearly had her mind set on finding a means of escape, which James didn't exactly blame her for. While he wasn't a hundred percent on the side of Elspeth, the bath and the stew had shown sides of her to him that Nicola wasn't familiar with. And, as for what she had said about friends and family, James wasn't able to relate to that as much as she may have thought.
James was an only child, never knew his father, and his mother was quite distant from him. He had very few friends and no close ones, with Nicola being the only person at work that he actually talked to. He knew that, should he spend the rest of his days with Elspeth, he wouldn't be missed by anyone except for his boss, who would purely want him back to manage his workload.
As he began to contemplate what would come from this whole situation, there came a knock at the door to the tone of 'save and a haircut, two bits'. A full minute passed, and the person at the door knocked again in a similar fashion. Only a half minute passed before what happened next.
The door began to shimmer, as if turning into glass, and through it walked the person who had been knocking, as easily as if there was nothing there at all standing in their way between the outside and inside of the abode. James watched in fear as the figure, cloaked in a blood red robe and hood and carrying a jet-black orb in their hands, stood a mere three meters away from him.
The figure let go of the orb, causing it to float in midair, as they pulled down their hood and took off their cloak. The figure revealed itself to be a pretty young woman with long orange hair, a freckled face, a slim build, and breasts so large that they rivaled Elspeth's younger form look. The woman placed her cloak over her shoulder, and took the orb again in a single hand. Looking around, she nodded, and spoke quietly to herself in a Russian accent. "It seems they were being right. Not a witch home, just as planned. Now, to look for the-"
She noticed James before she could complete her sentence, and walked over to him. James tried desperately to remain as inconspicuous and silent as possible, which was difficult given how terrified he was.
