As Laura pulled out of the parking lot she saw sirens come on behind her. Laura winces they were probably there looking for shoplifters when they saw a teenager start driving. She quickly puts together the best cover story she can think of when there's a tap on her window. The officer is a man in his early twenties, Laura goes this will mean he is less strict than a normal cop.
"Ma'am can I see your license and registration."
"Of course." Laura responds and pulls the registration from the glove box then opens her purse. "This isn't right my mom and I must have grabbed the wrong wallets."
She hope she sounds suitably annoyed.
"I told her we never should have gotten the same one."
"Is that the story you're going with? Because given how young you look I'm guessing you don't have a license yet. Listen I can be reasonable if you are. Tell me the truth and call your mom to come pick you up and I'll let you off with a warning. Lie to me and I will have to arrest you."
Laura's insistence she is telling the truth falls on deaf ears and she finds herself handcuffed and led over to the police car. Before she is put in the back the officer's radio goes off and he steps away to talk to whoever's on the other end.
