Before Alisa could react, the tv, which the family had just realized had been full of static before, turned onto the news. They were shocked at the sight that was before them though. The anchors, and man and woman, looked unnaturally close. It didn’t take long for Luke to notice the skin that bound them from the shoulder down. Each only seemed to have one arm, and both had red around their eyes, along with some cuts and bruises. The man then began to speak.
“As they say, the show must go on, and me and Jessica agreed that this news has to be shared, no matter how much a part of the story we are.” Jessica then spoke.
“That’s right John. As you most likely can see, me and J.... Me and.... We’re.... John...?”
“We have become joined to one another, like conjoined twins almost.” Jessica sighed, regaining her composure.
“As far as we can tell, everyone has been affected like this, from our emergency service operators to random people on the street. Everyone has been conjoined to someone, not matter differences in age, gender, size, or race.”
“It’s unclear right now exactly what caused this, or how life will change.... We can only hope that separation is an option form some, and we will continue to keep you updated as the story progresses.” The family just stared in shock, realizing the extent of what had happened. They didn’t just become conjoined. Everyone had. Every single person. The world had been affected!
