When Mary awoke, it took her a moment to remember what she'd done the night before, but when it came to her she immediately ran to the mirror to see if there were any changes.
"Huh," she said, rather disappointed to see the same old Mary staring back at her. Nothing seemed to be different at all.
"Shoulda known," she said, scowling at the box of vials. "A scam." She remembered the taste of the amazing foods from the vials she'd drunk the night before, and a sudden revulsion went through her. How could she have thought any of that tasted good? It sounded disgusting. The more she thought about it, the worse it sounded--and the worse she felt. She ran back to the bathroom and threw up.
"Ugh," she said, wiping her mouth. "I guess that's what I get for drinking five unknown liquids." She laughed at herself, then made her way to the kitchen, full of sudden cravings.
