Susan sighed with a growl as the pain in her tongue faded rapidly, the wound knitting and already almost gone. Too quick, she thought, but all the pain she'd used to try to keep her head was.
Penny was all but gone. The howl was the last barrier between her and the pack, and Susan saw her friend's deep breathing and clenched teeth just barely holding it back. Almost unrecognizeable, Penny was on the verge of being a beast.

"Penny?" she said, almost breathlessly.
Penny managed to collect herself long enough to regard Susan's tearful gaze.

In panting afterglow, they idly kicked off the last of their restraints. As if in acknowledgement of their mating, their fur colours changed yet one last time as their forms neared completeness. Penny's coat ranged from yellow to deep rose, while Susan's was from that same rose shade to midnight blue. Entwined as they were, one got the impression of a sunset, a glorious whole.
Susan felt a tiny twinge of regret, but it passed quickly as she moved in to pleasure her mate again. Giving in had perhaps betrayed Wendy, but it was better than being alone...
