“I guess…” Damon said as he looked at his flapping tailfins. “Still, what about my family?”
“Your brothers are already being claimed by my sisters if that’s what you meant,” Scarlett said as she caressed her hand on Damon’s chest.
Damon’s heart momentarily sank as he realized that his brother likely shared his fate to willingly become a merman, but he shook his head. “No, I mean the rest of my family, my mom, and dad. My mom’s even pregnant and I want to be there for my new little sister.”
“Aww… Someone’s a mama’s boy.” She said teasingly. “But in all seriousness, though. I do love a man who appreciates his parents. I’m something of a daddy’s girl, myself. Don’t worry, though. Your parents will join you eventually.”
Damon started to poke around his new fishtail, his fingers making contact with his new blue scales. “Alright, thanks, I guess… I am going to miss having legs, though. I’ll miss my feet, they were good feet.”
“I know, it will take time getting used to having fins instead of feet.” Scarlett started to smile. “But I promise you’ll realize that you’ve gained more than you lost. Especially since the Earth is mostly made up of water.”
“I know that, and I appreciate you trying to help me but I’ll need some time to get used to this merman thing. Especially since I can’t seem to find my penis.” He said with a hint of mourning in his voice.
Scarlett went up to Damon and kissed him.
The kiss lasted for well over several minutes. Despite everything that happened, Damon was fascinated that he managed to attract a mermaid. He was always into books and websites about merfolk, but he never thought he would be kissing one of their kind at this instant. It felt good, really good.
When their lips parted, Damon started to smile, just a little bit.
“Want to visit the merkingdom now?” Scarlett asked.
“A mer… Merkingdom?!” Damon’s eyes widened.
Scarlett giggled. “Of course, silly human. You think we merfolk live in cities just like yours?”
Damon blushed again, this time for a different reason. “To be honest, yeah… Sorry for asking.”
The mermaid’s face softened. “Don’t feel bad, Damon. It happens to the best of us. Trust me, you’ll find yourself one with the sea soon enough.”
“You really think so?”
“I know so.” The mermaid said with genuine warmth in her voice.
Scarlett kissed Damon again. The kiss was longer this time, not that either of them had any complaints about that. When their lips parted again, Damon started to feel better.
“Okay, I’ll go with you. Now lead the way.” Damon said with a smile.
“Yes, sir.”
Scarlett eagerly grabbed Damon as the two of them started to swim underwater. Scarlett felt so happy. At least, she had a mate.
