When John woke up she heard people were talking downstairs and curious started to go down to the living room. The voices were his mother Cindy, her sister Dolly, her friend Kathy and Silky.
Kathy's voice said "Why are you saying "She"? John's a guy."
then Dolly's "We all miss him, but you can't just bring in some random girl off the street and give her his room." some bickering was happening...
Then Silky said "You're all going to stay here or else."
John came down fully and entered the living room and asked "What's going on?"
Dolly said "We've been waiting to see whether or not your John!"
John said "Alright, Dolly remember that incident at th-"
Kathy said "Well that's enough right? I think if she knows that much she's probably John right?"
Dolly said "No, saying Remember that incident" really isn't evidence. Spill the beans." with a grin on her face.
John remained silent and Silky said "So Kathy was threatening to leave before you woke up, so I switched Dolly and Kathy's souls so she couldn't. I'm certain they are both convinced now though."
Dolly's body said "ummm... Don't listen to her John, I'm really Dolly your kind supportiv-"
John said "Switch em back Silky."
Kathy's body had a frown on her face as she said "You guys are no fun. Besides that, YOU were John?!? Why didn't you say anything this morning?!?"
John sighed and said "I just couldn't... I had just woken from my first night sleep in months, and did not expect to see you and just got overwhelmed. I couldn't get the words to come out."
Dolly said "...Don't worry... You're safe."
John feeling really wiped said "...thanks that's..." and then collapsed.
As John's consciousness came back she was hearing Dolly whispering stuff into her ear like "and never run away again." before moving around.
John asked in bed "What happened? What's that smell?"
Dolly said "Kathy, Silky, and Mom were talking and we realized you seem to have eaten Nothing today and may not have done that rewinding stuff?" she took something from John's desk and said "I got some chicken noodle."
John said "Don't worry I'll ju-"
"You are having a decent MEAL!" Dolly blurted out before more calmly saying "We're concerned John. You were gone for so long and now you seem so weak. Here, open wide and say aaah." John wasn't doing anything and Dolly said more forcefully "Say aaaah." John opened her mouth but made no noise and allowed to warm salty broth to flow into her mouth and down her throat.... and then another... and another...
After another swallow John said "You know being a Priestess the way I was... it was kind of like a dream in a way."
Dolly giving John another spoon said "Everything's felt off ever since that day."
"It felt like a sort of assassin super hero..."
"What's that even supposed to mean?"
"Like I see what needs to be done, do it, and then no one really knows I was there... However those that prayed tended to look at the sky a little differently. yet I rarely got the chance to really see their faces, another prayer would reach out for more help... Then I'd just go and do that. Over and Over with small breaks to revert my body back to a useable state."
"Here at home, I just continued going to college, studied, ate out a lot, and slept with friends a lot. It wasn't very healthy and didn't help mom much either. I ended up going to a therapist. It helped me come to terms with things a little and I even still go regularly. It's amazing how much it can help. I can get you a session if you want."
consuming another spoonful of soup John said "That sounds nice... I'm surprised that you and Katrina weren't freaking out down there. Why not?"
"Well the Priestesses popping up everywhere helped. Maybe the thought that you had turned into a girl popped into my mind somewhere, but it didn't really change anything. No idea where you even were."
"I was mostly in the city. Didn't really notice any other Priestesses. I may regretted running, but I don't think I regretted granting prayers. So many interesting wishes like children wanting to go into r-rated movies, an old lady wanting to spend more time with her grandchildren... I'm not sure if I can say no to one of Chronos' orders, but for sure I'll let you know before I have to go."
"Thank's John... the soup seems to be nearly done, but why don't we talk more sis?" and the two continued to talk for a long time. In an odd way being away for months had let the two get closer than they had been in years.
