The boys in the barn woke up with the sun. Roger went and found a bathroom in the bunkhouse and took care of his morning business. Upon his return he was surprised to find Tony outside in one of the paddocks doing the same. "You try taking a dump into a human toilet with a horse tail", Tony explained to Roger. "You'll be doing the same thing soon enough."
Then Tony started to pee. This turned into an unexpected spectacle as 3 minutes later the stream finally started to trail off. "I guess I was full", Tony remarked.
After a breakfast of food pellets, and special Supplements for Tony, the boys headed out for the training track. Roger found a stopwatch in the bunkhouse, so Tony started doing timed sprints for the fist time. Tony quickly discovered that he was running farther and faster than he had as a human, and his transformation was only about 1/3 complete.
The boys had no watches or cell phones, and therefore had no real sense of time. In early afternoon a green jaguar turned into the driveway and stopped next to Roger by the training track while Tony was doing a run. Out of the driver's door stepped Max? He looked different, older somehow.
"Hi Roger, how's the thoroughbred doing?"
"Max?? Is that you?" He looked like he had suddenly aged to be 18 or 19.
Max looked pained. "Yep, it's me. Your parents are a real pain in the ass by the way."
"Tell me about it. Disinterested most of the time, and fixated at the worst times."
"Your parents are at the root of this development", Max started explaining when Tony ran up on the scene.
"Max?? What the hell? Nice car though." Tony was grinning, panting slightly and covered in a sheen of sweat.
"How does the running feel Tony?" Damn he looks good Max thought. His coloration was almost the final chestnut. His skin texture hadn't changed yet, but that is on the way.
"It's great. I seem to be pretty fast. I can't wait till the transition is finished."
"Excellent. Roger, hop in the car. Tony, meet us at the barn, I need to fill you guys in."
"What!? I don't get to ride in the car?", Tony complained.
"Well, aside from the fact that you are a pony boy and not supposed to ride in cars, you are covered in sweat and would wreck my new upulstory."
Tony stuck ihs tongue out at his brother, stomped a foot, flicked his mane, and started trotting to the barn.
Max chuckled, "His manerisims are becoming more equine by the day."
----
Max was seated on the clean couch in Tony's stall. The two pony boys were seated on the other, which was a bit worse for wear from ponies unleashed. The boys also hadn't cleaned up the beer bottles from the stall either.
Max took a look around and chuckled, "I see you two had fun last night."
"We did", responded Tony. "We just need to get room service in to tidy up."
Max laughed, "Grab a trash can and pick up after we get done. It's not like we have any staff yet bro."
"Alright, I guess", Tony groused, but gave his brother a wink. "Now just what the hell is going on my younger brother?"
Max let out a heavy sigh. "Tony, you have no idea the capabilities of this chronivac software. You can not only change reality, but game the scenarios in the system before implementing them. I was doing just that last night relative to Roger's parents."
Max turned to Roger, "Dude, I had no idea. They didn't give a shit till you became a pony, then they fought like hell to keep you under their thumb. Every sort of bogus court case and legal complaint they could come up with. They kept the farm tied up in litigation for 6 years under almost all conditions. Finally I aged myself. That cut out a lot of their options. We are in settlement talks already. For the record, despite the hassle and problems, I am really glad we got you out of there."
Roger was a sea of emotions hearing all this. He choked up. "Thanks", was all he could manage.
Max turned back to Tony, "Yes, I am now officially 19 and the older brother. That's what you get for going and making me responsible." Max watched Tony's expression for a minute, and then continued, "By the way, I know how you changed me. I'm not mad or anything, in fact I like what you did, just don't do anything else, OK?"
Now Tony looked truly sheepish, "I'm so sorry. You're right. I was just thinking of my own fun when I set all this up. I'm sorry you had to age yourself."
Max looked Tony in the eyes. "Brother, the ageing is not on you. Blame Roger's parents if anyone. I'm not mad about it, or sorry for it. I'll save a fortune in Uber fees and I own a cool car to boot. Bottom line, I did this to save Roger. He is our friend and well worth it."
At this point Roger was looking back and forth between the brothers. "What the hell are you two talking about? What is this chronivac software?"
At this point the two brothers looked squarely at each other, then turned to Roger. "Dude, we totally owe you an explanation", Tony said.
"Tony I have your PC and our game systems in the trunk. I'm gonna have to buy everything else brand new anyways." He tossed Tony the keys.
Tony caught the keys and headed out. "As soon as I get set up you'll get that explanation Roger." He headed through the barn with a determined stride, his tail swishing behind him.
