Connor found himself struggling to pay attention during most of his classes that day.
Ever since the conversation he had with Ryan on the bus, he was unable to think about or focus on anything other than the advice he was given: be open and ask questions on what you need to figure out.
Connor has one problem with this advice though: he wasn’t sure how he should use it. He knew exactly what his questions were, but how could he be open about them, and who could he talk to?
“Maybe I need to talk to someone who’s gay or bi…” Connor thought to himself. “But how would I find people like that on my own? Maybe the school has a ‘Gay-Straight Alliance’ like most schools do nowadays? Yeah...yeah! That might work!”
Then there was the issue of the species of Were that he would become. While no one had mentioned something about one, Connor felt as if he was on a time limit. The fact that he had chosen to become the family Were and still didn’t have an idea of what kind of species he wanted to become was really beginning to nag at him. He had effectively eliminated larger Weres from his decision, so that made things a bit easier...to an extent.
He wasn’t sure why, but he kept getting this feeling that he should become a Werewildcat. He wasn’t sure if it was because he had always liked wild cats, because they were a smaller species of Were, or because he had become close friends with Ryan, but the feeling was still quite strong.
“It’s just because I haven’t met anyone else who’s a smaller Were,” Ryan thought to himself, trying to come up with a justification for the feeling. “I’ve just got to meet some other types of Weres...but then who would transform me? What if there’s no one who’s my age? What if I regret my decision?” Connor sighed in frustration.
“Why couldn’t this just be easy?” he muttered to himself.
