Embarrassed, you walk down the street to the bus stop. It was still petty dark out and the kids on the bus hadn't noticed your face. Breathing a sigh of relief, you grabbed an empty seat in the back. Several minutes passed and it began to get light outside; it was only a matter of time before someone would see you and the whole bus would be laughing at the clown boy. The bus pulled up to the house of your girlfriend, Amy. She got on the bus and headed down the aisle looking for you. "How am I gonna explain this to her?" You thought to yourself.
"Hi Jeff," said Amy, sitting down next to you. Her eyes locked on your face. "Hahaahaha, you look so silly!" she exclaimed. "Why are you dressed like a clown?"
"Well, I found out I'm really good at painting faces, so that's what I'm presenting for show and tell," you said, trying to bullshit your way through this. "I'm going to go up front and ask for volunteers and then I'll paint their faces!"
"O CRAP! I forgot show and tell was today!" exclaimed Amy.
"Well, do you want to go up together? I could give you a clown face like mine and we can say that it's our combined show and tell. You're petty artistic, I bet you could paint faces just as well as me!" you offered.
"Yes please!" said Amy. "Thanks for saving me on this assignment!"
"No worries," you replied, relieved that she had agreed to join you and you wouldn't be the only clown walking into school today. You got your paint set out and painted her whole face white with pink cheeks, a purple nose, and red lips. Then you painted colorful hearts around her eyes. Unknown to her, the paint absorbed into her skin quickly after it was applied; her makeover would be way more permanent than she had bargained for. "There, I tried to make you into a girly clown," you said. "Here, take my wig to finish your look. It'll go great with your polka dot top and sparkly shoes! I still have the rest of the outfit."
"Oh thank you, Jeff!" Amy. "You saved me! I completely forgot show and tell was today! I'm glad we're going to do this together. I can't believe you had planned to go to school all by yourself dressed like a clown. You're really brave; I don't think I'd have the guts to do this alone!"
"You know me," said Jeff nervously. "I like to live on the wild side!"
