Tony groaned as Roger got up and hauled the racing pony out of bed. "I don't suppose horses get coffee?" Tony groused. This gave Liz a good laugh.
First things first, Liz sat both ponies down and introduced herself as Max's racing trainer. "As such I'll be working mostly with you Tony, but I do have involvement with breeder ponies as well." Liz went on to talk some about her accomplishments, including a Pony Cup winner at Santa Anita two years ago. "I'll be frank, Tony I'm gonna bust your tail. I'm gonna work you like you have never been worked before. If you follow my instructions and put in the work you will win races. I know that was one of your motivations for volunteering."
Tony nodded enthusiastically in a very equine manner and grinned. "I look forward to it. I love to run, to win. I like to train and I like to work hard. I'd like to start right now."
Liz shook her head, "I wish we could, but as we discussed yesterday your welcome home fun with Roger has thrown a temporary wrench into things. I see your stomach is down a bit, but you have a ways to go."
"Yes, but down for a full week?" Tony was mildly frustrated.
"There are some ways to shortcut the process we can talk about, but I need to get Roger hooked up to his morning workout." Liz gestured towards the milking machine.
