Charlotte burst bravely into the bathroom to investigate the source of the mysterious noises that were coming from that direction. If she was going to be confronting an intruder then she hoped that taking them by surprise would force them to flee. She wasn't exactly an intimidating presence but she wasn't about to stand by and let some creep invade her personal property. She had always been one to stick up for herself.
To her great relief the bathroom appeared empty. She had to be alone in there, it was a small open room and there was no place for any human to hide. As the adrenaline left her body, Charlotte slid down into a crouch and took a few moments to decompress. What was wrong with her today? Imaginary noises? A missing yogurt? And, now she looked, a loofah brush she didn't remember owning lying next to the bath! Perhaps she was overdoing it at work? She had read that stress and exhaustion could do strange things to someone's mind.
Charlotte picked up the loofah brush and placed it on the side of the bath tub. Now she thought about it a nice, lengthy relaxing bath might be just what she needed to clear her head and wash the day away.
As the bathtub slowly began to fill, Charlotte untied her hair and examined her reflection in the mirror. She was a pretty girl. Not beautiful, but cute and fresh faced even after such a tiring day.
As she began to unbutton her blouse, Charlotte could have had no idea that she was not alone and that a complete stranger might be about to become more intimately aquainted with her than even her ex boyfriends had been. She could also have no idea that she had unwittingly taken the property of an eccentric and potentially vengeful sorceress.
