It took a while for the family to talk Susan down from her sudden idea of forming a new “accepting” church maybe even a demon church to spit her father. She was still focused on it, however her husband and oldest children convinced her to first focus on the transformation at hand. Once that was done, they could look at ideas of starting their own church.
Over the next few days, word got out of them coming down with the infection. There grandfather had announced the “horrify” news from the pulpit and turned it into the forces of the devil working against him, his family and their faith. Susan and her family got calls saying how sorry there where and asking what they did to deserve this punishment. They politely said, they did nothing it was a sickness nothing more. They also got calls threatening to drive the “devil” family out of town. Those calls they sent to police most of all since they had a brick thrown through their front window with the words Devil on it. Lucky the Police who Mike was a member of and local government wasn’t totally in the pocket of the church so they did arrest the drunk guy who threw the brick. Still it wasn’t easy as most of their lives, friends and all of their family was from the church and they had lost it all.
Finally, the day of the transformation arrived and the family traveled across the state to the transformation center. They would be staying over two weeks, so that they could change and adapt to their new bodies whatever that may be. The center had family unites which had three bedrooms, living room and two bathrooms. They where set up in there, with the parents in the master bedroom and the other two split between the three boys and the two girls.
They had to go through multiple tests, blood, height, weight and everything else as they prepared for the change. One thing they had all agreed upon was that they where going to take the drug which speed up the change, turning what would have been a week long process into a five or less minute change.
“Alright, Maxwell family who wants to be transformed first.” Said a Doctor, his skin was a dark brown colored but instead of flesh his skin was scales and he had a long alligator like tail coming out of his pants.
“I am.” Announced Susan as she stood up “Can my husband come with me?”
“Of course, I recommend we transform you and then him…then one of you can be with each of the children if they should want it.” Advised the doctor
“Alright.” Said Mike as Susan hugged each of her kids, telling them it would be ok. Mike did the same and together they went into the transformation chamber. It was a large room with medical equipment and two nurses ready to help if needed. The only thing strange was that the floor was somewhat padded in case on fell during the change.
“Please remove all your clothing and we will begin.” Announced the doctor as Susan kissed her husband one last time, before taking off her clothes.
“See you on the other side.” Announced Susan as the doctor came forward and injected the serum into her arm and the changes began.
