Jeff looked out of his bedroom window, searching for his twin cousins. He knew that they must have been near since the Chronivac displayed their profiles. He quickly spotted the familiar, beat-up truck parked along the sidewalk. It was Anthony's and Vince's shared truck. They had spent the previous summer working on it with their father, and now they turn turns driving it. Jeff knew that his cousins were usually together so it often did not matter who had the truck. It only became an issue when Vince wanted to take his girlfriend on a date, and Anthony wanted to meet a group of his friends.
In the grand scheme of things, the conflict seemed insignificant, but Jeff knew there was an underlying friction growing between his cousins. Anthony had confided in Jeff his fear of losing his brother. With the Chronivac, Jeff realized that he could solve this problem, just as he had done with his older brothers. He figured that things had worked out so well with Chris and Josh, that his cousins could also benefit from the same arrangement.
As Jeff watched from his window, Anthony and Vince were still in the truck, and they were having a heated argument. A moment later, Anthony stormed out of the passenger side of the truck and headed for the front door. Anthony's brother did not follow. Instead, the truck engine groaned to life.
Jeff raced back to his computer, stubbing his toe into the side of the desk. He bit his tongue, ignoring the throbbing pain. He needed to hurry, before Vince drove out of range. The familiar pop-up window had already appeared on screen. Without another thought, Jeff hastily selected the first option, Conjoinment, and then immediately saved when the second window appeared. Jeff sighed, thankful that he completed the change before Vince had driven away. Now, Anthony would not have to fear his brother and him growing apart.
Jeff waited for a few moment for the sound of the front door opening, but nothing happened. "Huh?" He was sure that Anthony was on his way to visit them which meant that Vince would now also have to be. It was impossible for them two be in two places at once now. Jeff walked back to his window.
