You touch the symbols with your hands, they feel like water, almost as if you could push your hand right through them, you slide an F over to a blank space, followed by an O and an X, you bring an I down and place it beside the X, then move it a bit to the right for a space, you continue spelling out fox island, and upon finishing, the symbols you didn’t use fly upwards into small slots in the roof of the cave. Your answer flies around you, you feel your body become lighter, your sense of smell is much greater than it was. Before, you feel so much stronger, like you could punch right through the wall of the cave, yet... you feel relaxed, as if you were curled up in bed, sleeping peacefully, then suddenly, the feeling fades, and you’re back in the room with the engraved stone, the path you went through is gone, now replaced by another engrave stone, on it, it reads “complete the trial to the left to go this way”
“Fair enough” you say, walking out and following the tunnel to the next trial, you make it to a room with a wall made of unrefined iron, you can hear noises on the other side of it, more floating symbols appear from a small hole in the wall of the cave, to form another clue, they read “to be one with the orange angels... you must first befriend, the pond will not show to one who harms them” you laugh a little at the fact they tried to use “them” to rhyme with “befriend”, you watch the letters float back into the hole, and then the cave starts shaking, the iron wall begins to rotate, and you walk past it, it rotates back to its original stage, you look up and see that you are millions of feet underground, as evidenced by the fact that there is natural lighting coming from an opening so high, the hole looks like it’s the size of a penny. Before you can look down, the room is dimmed by several net shaped rocks that extend out of the sides of the room, you look around in the dark and see a rock carved into the shape of an altar with three items on it, one is a giant bar of what looks like gold, but upon closer inspection is actually a metal that nobody has seen, you think about how much you could make by selling this when you get out, and try to lift it up, but it’s so heavy it doesn’t even leave the altars surface, despite your improved strength, you inspect it and notice that there is graphite on the other side, it reads “if you can lift this, you completed the trial, doing so will return you to the previous room” there is more writing, but it’s been scratched off, you move on to the second item, which is a slab of meat which seems to mostly be made of rabbit, but contains some beef and pork, you take a step back, amazed at the sudden improvement in your sense of smell, you then move on to the third and last item, which is an ordinary combat knife, though it is abnormally large and measures at 18 inches instead of the usual maximum of 13 inches, this is seemingly a custom, and has an engraving on it, which seems to be a the same language that you couldn’t read before, yet... you understand this particular line, it reads out “Kitsujney, likely a way of saying “Kitsune” in some ancient language, you don’t recall ever knowing this word, but regardless, you step forward again, and look at the three objects, then suddenly it gets brighter, you look up and see a sky, you were suddenly just transported to what seems like a small forest, you look back at the altar, then noticing that just a few feet forward, there’s a den, you walk up to it and kneel, then you hear drumming. you blink and suddenly you’re back at the altar, the three objects are now accompanied by a scroll, saying that this is the first defining trial, and that it may even decide wether or not you become one with the orange angels at all, it’s once again written in the ancient language, after reading the scroll, it fades away and disappears, then you shift your view to the den once again, 4 foxes had just emerged, which object do you grab?
