Calliope and Calypso's Dating Profile

added 3 years ago O

Understanding well that being unique sometimes means being one of a kind, Calypso and Calliope took friends' suggestion of finding a mate or two among the humans to heart as they decide to simplify their search with the Animalia Dating Service which Lyre's single Animalians use. However, besides needing to be cautious on the dating site, Calliope and Calypso aren't computer experts yet since they have recently uplifted. Luckily, Robbie introduced them to his mate Martha, who was able to free some of her time from getting things ready for the IAC fashion show to help the twins set up a profile.

"There's really very little too it," Martha said as she typed in the two-headed anaconda's information under the profile name 'Cally'. "What exactly do you want in a mate?" "Someone who doesn't mind being in a relationship with more than one person," Calypso responds. "Even if it's with each other plus us," added Calliope. Martha raised an eyebrow but made no response, taking into count that the twins' needs being probably different from most. "Is there anything else you'd like to specify?" asked Martha. "Er, we're not sure what," Calypso answers. "We just have so many different preferences it's hard to pick what to say," said Calliope "Well, I guess we can leave that open for now," said Martha, "You can narrow it down more once you've made up your minds." With that, she submitted the profile and the twins now had their own page on the dating forum.

"So, how long before we have any matches?" asked Calliope. "It could take quite a while," said Martha, "Maybe a few days-" Just then, the computer pinged several times, Martha's brow raised while checking the profile. "You got eight matches already," she said in a surprised tone. "Wow, that was fast," said Calypso. "I didn't think we'd be that popular," said Calliope. "Well, outsiders put their own profiles in here so they can be alerted if a new Animalian matching their interest appears," Martha explains while seeing a pattern after quickly checking the various matches. "Oh, they're all from Los Angeles," Martha calmly says. "Makes sense, really." "Why is that?" asked Calliope. "Los Angeles is...a really eccentric town," said Martha, "Even outside of Hollywood, the people there can seem pretty weird. Particularly in the Venice Beach area. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised if there were people there who were interested in dating a snake with bisexual preferences." She didn't even bring up the two heads or poly-amorous angles.

"Is Los Angeles not far from here?" asked Calypso. "It's only one state over, right?" asked Calliope. "Yes, but it's still a long drive," said Martha, "I wouldn't go rushing over there to meet someone before really getting to know them. I'd livechat with them first and get to know them a little bit before you physically go to them or vice versa." After showing them how to use the webcam and livechat features, Martha got ready to leave. "Thanks so much for helping us," said Calypso. "You're welcome. Just remember to be careful. Not everyone is as sincere as they appear to be. Make sure they're interested in you for WHO you are more than WHAT you are," said Martha. "We have two brains between us," said Calliope, "We're not that stupid." Martha nodded before leaving. The twins might not be stupid, but they were still a gullible as were most uplifted Animalians at first, making a mental note to check in on them to make sure that whoever they pick is not some exploitative lowlife.

The twins work their way through the potential suitors and root out the undesirables with some being easy like one who misunderstood the profile and freaked over Cally being a two-headed snake or another who hit a nerve despite being polite to them. The twins also stood clear from the more dubious profiles. They eventually narrowed down two ideal candidates, one being a guy named Tyler, Typhoon to his friends, who is into punk culture and comes from a line of sailors. The other one is Waterlily, who embraces hippy culture and is very insightful of people. Furthermore, despite their radically different appearances, Typhoon and Waterlily are in an open relationship with both interested in bonding with a snake. Calliope and Calypso find the two ideal, but they would still make sure as they agree to invite Typhoon and Waterlily over to Lyre on a vacation for a few dates, though it take a while to set up as the twins and their potential lovers agree to live-chat for a while.
