The January Edition of Animalia Magazine was interesting because it covered all of the major events in Animalia from the very beginning to "today", and the repercussions of the event around the world. Some of them were a little startling, while others were to be expected.

The Cover Image (not really a couple) showed both the guys and girls of the Seven-on-Four Night and the Guys of what was now known as 'Mr. D.'s House Party' on certain internet circles in something akin to a police line-up or mugshot photoshoot. While the paper copy of the magazine showed one that was a bit more realistic, the digital copy (especially those who had premium subscriptions) showed one that was a little more "daring" that showed the same Animalians with a little less clothing and a little more "provocation".
The Cover Article talked about the major "criminal" events that either involved Animalians or had become Animalians afterward. As was the case, the article that talked about the events also included some internet rumors/stories/fantasies/etc. that differed on many of the details, similar to physical and digital e-mail chains, as well as annotations that let people know which parts were real and which parts were fake. While some of the annotations were surprising, there were those who ended up on comedy shows both on television and the internet where the people who made the claims got exposed for lying, as well as exposed in hilarious ways.

There was also an update about plans for future colonies overseas, as well as which ones were going into full effect relatively soon, and which were still 'on the back burner'. While there were plans for one in China, one in Japan, and one in Korea (With Ling and Mr. Hyun working on that one together, but still indecisive on whether it would be in North or South Korea) that were getting closer, ones planned in Russia, Ukraine, or other former members of the Soviet Union kept getting karma served right into their faces when they find bunker cities designed to survive a nuclear holocaust had not survived the end of the Cold War. That was to say that they had been purchased by mobsters and gutted for scrap metal.

There was also a schedule for Chinese New Year in Animalia, which were going to be mainly in Lyre and Animalia, as well as Heiya Island. Ling and Mr. Hyun were heading there for their official "first date" to both enjoy the martial arts showcases and make their bondmate status official.
Part of what made it anticipated, at least for those signing up, was a free weekend at Heiya Island and their exclusive Zodiac Suite. Others, on the other hand, were looking forward to another Best of Breed Showdown.

Because of the January Issue, there were plenty of preorders for the Year of the Rat Zodiac celebrations.
