It was in the last afternoon on Tuesday when it all happened. The day I was sent to another world. It happened like any other situation like this.
I was walking from the store on that rainy day. I had my umbrella and I was listening to some music when all of a sudden, a truck lost control on the wet road, and was heading straight towards me. My body couldn’t move out of fear, and I got hit.
It was an instant death. No pain, no suffering. I simply just died.
Then I woke up.
I woke up, and I was in a pitch black room, with a woman on the other side of the room in some kind of throne. I look around and realize I was sitting in a chair.
“So, you died huh?” She asked me.
“I what? Where am I?” The realization of what happened didn’t hit me yet, but I would soon learn too much about how life works.
“You see, a delivery truck lost control and hit you straight on. Your parents attempt to sue, but they lost the case due to the convenience store cameras catching the scene.”
“So I’m dead? Is this heaven?”
“No not quite. You can go to Heaven, and live a boring life with no sins” she held out her right hand, making some sort of video of what seemed to be people in Heaven being peaceful, but then a list of sins popped up. More than half of them I do on a daily basis, which means I would be bored 24/7.
“Or you could choose the alternative!” She held out her left hand, and it showed a baby.
“Be reborn into a world of magic and defeat the tyrannical king in power.”
“So I’d be a baby with no memory of my past life, and kill the king?”
“No, you’ll keep all your current knowledge. And here is the good part: you kill the king, I send you back the second you left that store with a reminder of what’s about to come. Isn’t that great?”
“So be a baby, learn magic, kill the king, and return to before I died?”
“Yes, now it isn’t a simple task. You’d need a power no one has in that world.” She waves her hand and a table and book appears. I open it up and flip through the pages. Each page had some ability that someone would list out as a super power.
Teleportation, super speed, mind reading, shape shifting, body possession. The list goes on and on.
“Choose one power, and you should be able to use it by the age of four!”
“One power? The fact that you gave me many options means we’re going to be here for a while.”
“Take your time, there is no rush!”
I decided to grab a random paper and see what I chose.
