"I'm sorry, sir, but I'll have to check with the head of our group. Could you please wait here?" you say, hiding the suspicion in your voice. He sits, and you walk to your group's locomotive. It is an ALCo 4-6-2 'Pacific', with the words 'Louisville & Nashville' painted on the side of the tender. The number, painted above the aforementioned wording. is 168. You step up to the footplate, where Lt. Traywight Kelopaja, nicknamed 'Lt. Typhoon', is sitting. Lt. Typhoon, a 58 y.o. grey wolf, has been leader of the Railroad Rednecks since 2158, when the previous leader (a Lt. Robert Downy III) resigned due to old age.
"Hey, Lieutenant, there is someone claiming to be with the GNG, a General Jacob Holmes, he wants a ride to the Grove. I'm a bit suspicious, however. Doesn't the GNG radio ahead?"
"Let the goddamned man on. If he is GNG, it's probably important. If he isn't, we have 38 guns. Pick one."
"A'right sir."
After that quick chat with Lt. Typhoon, you speedwalk back to the man.
"You are cleared to board."
"Thank you, sir."
You stand back and watch as the fox-general boards the only passenger car, a stainless-steel Pullman. You soon follow. You are now faced with a dillema: Who to sit by?
