It's not like it would come true, so why not be escapist? You were stuck here in your boring house with your boring life. Of course you were bored. Maybe a change of scenery would move this plot along. You squint at the sentence, then decide what to change.
"A bored woman is lazing on her yacht."
Haha, that would be rich. Well, you would be, if you could afford a yacht. Nothing a struggling writer could even dream of buying. Grinning, you hit the "SUBMIT" button, expecting the next sentence to entertain your imagination just as much.
Until you feel the room shift. First slightly one way, then the other. What the.. As you look around you, you realize it's not just your imagination. The room really is tilting slightly. And there's an unfamiliar noise. Well, not completely unfamiliar. It sounds like water sloshing around...
Not believing your senses, you leap off the couch, phone in hand, and nearly tip over when the floor rolls slightly. Grabbing the wall and steadying yourself, you weave like a drunken sailor out of your living room door, and nearly drop your phone as your jaw hits the floor.
The reason the floor is moving...is because you are no longer in your house. Actually, your whole living room is no longer in your house. It is on a huge, luxurious yacht. Which may seem great...except for one small problem.
You are anchored somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Alone.
After confirming there is no land in sight, you rush to the bridge. However, upon arriving there, you realize you have another problem. You have no idea how to start up a yacht, let alone how to steer it. Desperation setting in, you realize your only recourse is the phone and its crazy app. What insane situation would it put you in next? Anything would be better than being lost at sea, right?
"The panicking woman bumbles around her yacht."
Whelp, that doesn't seem like much help. And is it just you, or does this app sound like it has it out for you? Either way, you need to get out of here.
