It was a rather strange text to wake up to this morning...
"Come over asap"
I honestly kind of panicked. I thought that Mason had gotten into some kind of trouble. I texted back and even called several times but he never responded. This is very unlike him. He's not the type of person to just ask to hang out, that's my job. And he rarely ever asks for anything so what could it be? I got in my car and drove over to his house as fast as was legal. Luckily since it was eight in the morning on a Saturday there was no traffic whatsoever.
I approached the front door and was about to knock when I hesitated. Is anyone even home right now? Didn't his family have plans today? I looked back out at the courtyard and realized that I hadn't walked past any of their cars. Something clearly is up here, but I mean... It's Mason. It's probably just a prank or something y'know? Maybe his car is just parked in the garage. Whatever the case may be, I bring myself to finally knock on the front door.
After standing around for a bit, I knock again. And again. And again. I even ring the doorbell. But there's absolutely no response. I try contacting Mason as well and again, no response. Finally I just try opening the door myself and sure enough, it was unlocked this whole time. I step into his house to find not a single soul around and all the lights turned off.
"Hello!?" I called. "It's me! Christian! Mason called for me?" Still nothing.
I decide to look around for a bit, determined to find Mason. But the longer I looked the longer it just seemed like this was all just a stupid prank. But just as I finish looking around I hear a strange noise...
