The first Sunday of February was often when the Super Bowl began playing, but since the first Sunday of February was also Groundhog's day, there was a relatively new thing going on at the super bowl party at Animalia's Great Hall. Tanya and Rupert, both groundhog Animalians, had announced (both from their own educated guesses and "input" from other groundhogs) they were able to make an official announcement.
"While there is some dispute between some of our contacts," began Tanya.
"The overall judgement is that we're going to have an early spring." finished Rupert, to a delighted cheer from everyone.

During the actual coverage of the game itself, it was clear that the guys from Mr. D.'s 'house party' had a lot of experience with Super Bowl parties, if not ones mainly populated by Animalians. Probably the funniest picture from the party was when Kip met the unofficial 'Mane Six' when they came over to his table and were clearly, 'subtly' flirting with him throughout the entire party. The icing on the cake was Kip's expression, which showed that he was clearly out of his comfort zone. Of course such a thing would inevitably become an internet meme about learning new things, and doing new things.

What was also learned was that Mr. D. was also an expert at ordering catering, both for his tenants and for Animalia's Super Bowl party. Because of that, Mr. D. was named as unofficial head of "Animalia Hospitality and Catering Committee". While there wasn't such a thing per se, there were those who were in charge of the food and drink at Animalia's events, and if you called it a 'committee', it made it sound a bit more respectable.

Another thing was a brief interview with Miss Fabina over her new 'initiates', as she called them.
"They're still getting used to their new forms, but Alice is adapting the best to her new form." She told the reporter that was interviewing her, "She made her decision the quickest, selecting a koi from her family estate's pond as her new species."
"So what is her new 'color'?" asked the reporter, not knowing much about the different subspecies of koi.
"She's a marvelous combination of bright red and deep blue," answered Miss Fabina, "She's taking to calling her new pattern 'Sunset on the ocean', since it's a beautiful, rippling pattern of reds and blues."

There was also a similar party going on in Dino City, but the highlight of the party was when Jen and Andrew met Jen's family. Both of Jen's parents were a little intimidated about Jen's new form, but Jen's grandmother threw another cluster bleep bomb in Japanese. That was considered fortunate because Jake and his new siblings didn't seem to know or care what she said due to enjoying their jungle-themed play place, and human children got the answer to what she said as, "Just the ranting of a crazy lady."

While the party was pretty good, what was considered the most important, to Animalians at least, was the Mister and Miss Zodiac Competition. The preliminary challenges for the Best of Breed Showdown were underway and at least a quarter of hopefuls were eliminated before the Super Bowl party.

There was plenty to talk about during the week, especially about the game. But what everyone, in Animalia at least, was paying the most attention to was Milly and Mary Piper during the Best of Breed Showdown, and it was clear that they were going to be able to go all the way to the final challenge.
