The farmhand leads you through the farmyard toward a huge barn. You can't help but notice a plow and a couple of simple conveyance carts. None of the farm equipment is motorized. It's all meant to use the harnessed power of a beast of burden. A beast like the donkey that you have somehow become. Your dull hooves trudge through mud and muck.
He gives a slight flick to the ropes encircling your head. You have no idea how to interpret these subtle commands but fortunately, when you don't let your human thoughts get in the way, the instincts of the donkey respond almost automatically.
The lower floor of the structure features a wide open space bordered by rows of individual stalls. That's not a good thing! The young man walks through one of the stalls, pulling you into the confined space. He opens a gate at the other end, walks though, shuts it behind him. You try to back up, but as a donkey your new legs are not having it, giving him time to swing around and close a heavy door against the end of the stall where you entered.
The confined space, the gate, and the barred door combine to make you feel trapped. What if they won't let you out? What if you can't get out? You've got 22 hours to find the former donkey in your body and convince it to use the amulet to switch you both back into your proper forms! It's all you can do to choke down a desire to scream. You partly avoid screaming because you realize that it will simply produce one of those awful brays.
You exhale nervously and loudly, and the man apparently hears and responds. "Take it easy," he says and reaches through the gate. He scratches behind one of your huge, ungainly ears and the feeling is indescribably good. "You just cool your jets in there while me and Sam run to town for some supplies."
You can't simply let him cage you like an animal. Everything depends on getting to your home and finding the donkey that stole your body. You would protest, but he is snapping something under your mouth and chin. It's a feedbag filled with some high fiber pellets await you.
You don't want food, but the donkey does, and it takes control and begins softly munching on the pellets. The man departs, leaving you crammed into the barn stall. The pellets smell appetizing. You eat until the bag is empty and then you feel drowsy. Your eyes close slowly and you fall asleep, upright on four feet.
