There were two roommates: Kaleb and John. The two of them were high school friends, and now they decided to live in apartments together. Both of their jobs allow them to have enough money to live on their own, so the two of them are able to save a lot of money due to the small pay of the apartment bills.
Kaleb is the type of guy who’s the father in the group. He makes sure that everyone is ok before he does something. Everyone going out to eat? He makes sure that everyone has the right meal before eating. Accidentally cut yourself? He will patch you right up and be there when you need it. He’s a good friend to all he calls a friend.
John was and can still be known as the class clown. He isn’t as bad today, but he’s still childish. When he’s with friends, he will make sure all of them are to join his antics in things. Almost all the time they’re enjoyable jokes that makes everyone laugh.
No one knows why these two decided to become roommates. Soon enough, no one will know why these two disappeared, and a father and son got replaced.
On a Friday afternoon, Kaleb and John were playing video games to pass the time when there was a ring at the doorbell. Kaleb got up to answer it, only to reveal a small box. It was no bigger than a phone.
“What is it?” John paused the game and looked towards his friend.
“I have no clue. There isn’t a return address or anything.”
“Well open it!” John insisted.
Kaleb started opening the box, only to reveal a weird looking phone. It was like a flip phone, but it was the size of today’s phones.
Kaleb turned on the phone, and was introduced with a little tune.
“Hello, thank you for purchasing a T-Phone! How may I assist you today” it said
Kaleb and John looked at each other and back at the phone. Kaleb kept pressing buttons and going around the phone’s menu.
“This phone doesn’t have an App Store, settings, not anything. It just has two applications.” Kaleb said.
“Maybe those apps are how you get other apps?” John suggested.
Kaleb opened one of the apps, only for the phone to speak again. “There are currently 37 residents nearby available for transformation, and 2 in the nearest vicinity.”
“What does that even mean? Transformation?”
Unexpectedly, the phone responded, “Yes, transformation. You can select one or multiple people to transform them, or select a package. Would you like me to show you?”
“Did it talk back?” Kaleb asked John.
Without realizing what it could really do, John shouted out, “Show us a random transformation!”
The phone makes a small tune, and before their eyes, John starts transforming. On the phone, it had his ‘stats’, and most of them were changing. Slowly, John was transformed into an elderly woman of himself.
“Change him back? How do I do that?” Kaleb asked the phone.
“There is a reset button on the very bottom, which requires you to scroll. Or, manually change his settings.”
Kaleb scrolled to the bottom and pressed the reset button.
Once again, John transformed. It was back to his old self, one he actually liked after that experience.
Kaleb shut the phone and placed it in his pocket. “Ok, after your stupidity, we are not going to speak of transforming in front of this phone!”
“Why not? We can use it to make our lives better!”
“That’s the thing, how can we make it better? We aren’t fat, nor do we need muscles. We could keep the jobs we have now and still be living great lives!”
“Fine! I guess you don’t want to have fun with this!” John got up and walked to his room. Kaleb sat back down and mumbled about how childish John was.
Little did they know, the phone had a timed transformation that was set for midnight. Only time would tell on what will happen to these guys.
