Mike opens the door to Dr. Marks' old office and finds the gun lying right on his desk. He picks it up and looks at all the settings, from "shrink" to "transform" to "grow." This is one hell of an object. Just to see how it works, he turns it to "shrink," fires it at the desk chair, and holds down the trigger. He lets go when it shrinks so small that he can't even see it. With a smile, he gets on his knees and looks for it, and after a few moments of searching, he sees a tiny red desk chair that couldn't be more than an eighth of an inch tall. He gives some thought to growing it back for when the authorities inevitably find Dr. Marks missing and come into the office, but he also remembers his compromised position: if he got caught in here, he could get into a lot of trouble. In fairness, the power of the gun could probably get him out of pretty much any trouble he found himself in, but he wants to stay under the radar for now. He steps out of the office, looks both ways, and runs down the hall to the exit. He exits the office without incident and heads into the rush-hour Thursday evening traffic, thinking about what to do next.
The office is on the outskirts of the city, and you head on over to the commuter rail platform to wait for the train to take you back to your suburban campus. At the station, you smartly duck into the men's room before you take out the gun again: taking out anything that looks like a gun in public is probably a bad idea. You wonder what you want to do with it. You could shrink a hot chick, or if you want to shrink a lot of people at once, you could find a bus full of people around here.
Then you realize that you might get a kick out of shrinking yourself in public and spying on people. But where would you want to go? You could shrink yourself on the train ride back home, or you could go back to campus to shrink yourself at the coffeeshop or library.
You look down at the gun, still amazed that you have all this power right at your fingertips. So what's the plan?
