The February Edition of Animalia Magazine talked about several different things tied to both birds and Valentine's Day. While some were more surprising than others, others were considered more humorous.

The Cover Couple was Mike, from "Mr. D.'s House Party", and his 'assigned' golden eagle bondmate. What made her different was that she was suffering from leucism, which gave her a strange, 'rippled', brown and white pattern. But what was funny was the fact that, despite her cuddling into him, he was clearly surprised and uncomfortable about it.
Their cover article talked about some of the most unusual courtship rituals in the animal kingdom, whether by insects or animals. These were also rated on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of how unusual they were. There were also things shown about what happens when one male is smaller than other males (mostly in the insect kingdom) and the ways they get a chance with the girls before the larger males. This was one of those that were considered both funny and weird.

There was also an article that talked about how not all animal babies were adorable, miniature versions of their parents. There were often comparisons between infant/juvenile versions of animals and their adult versions that showed how different they were. While some of them were understandable, others were a bit more surprising.

Another article talked about unusual fertility "rituals" practiced by ancient cultures. Some were considered harmless at best by modern standards, while others were quite painful (such as with the Mayans) or downright dangerous. There was also records of strange things done to either confirming whether or not a woman was pregnant or done to lessen the pain of childbirth. In the latter case, some of the things ranged from silly and stupid, to downright outrageous, to even dangerous to either the mother or child, or even both.

What was also included was a list of honeymoon attractions in Animalia and when the best time to go to them was, not only for best shows but also seasonal times for certain animals. For example, one of Mieni Atoll's prime honeymoon times was the leatherback sea turtle hatching between February and July. While it was something to watch the babies (behind safe boundaries) claw their way to the surface and make their way to the sea, it was seemingly a good deterrent against many predators that would otherwise make a meal of baby leatherback sea turtles.

There was also an article that talked about the Mister and Miss Zodiac Competition, as well as the inspiration(s) for many of the challenges for the Year of the Rat competition. There were those that were a little surprising, but many made sense due to the different strengths of the various competitors.

The Sneak Peek section showcased a number of previews for Spring, mainly about the Spring Festival. Fortunately, the more "explicit" parts were omitted due to being a popular pastime with children.
