Although Steven had his pick of any of the girls, eventually he started to focus more on Amy, in particular on Amy's breasts. Judy looked a bit irritated, but she just kept dancing with Cathy.
Soon, Amy dragged Steven to the couch, and they flopped down on it together.
"I like your hair," Amy said loudly enough to be heard over the music.
"Uh," he said. "T-thanks. I like your..." He stared at her breasts and said, "Swimsuit."
"You ever kissed a girl?"
"Yeah," he said. "I've kissed a few."
"Wanna kiss me?" she said, sounding nervous but excited.
They kissed awkwardly with their lips closed.
Amy giggled, and Steven smiled.
"Let's do that again," Amy said.

Meanwhile, Daniel had wandered off to find a bathroom. After he finished taking a leak, he left the bathroom and saw Betty waiting in the hallway.
"Hi," he said. "You waiting for the toilet?"
"You guys should leave," she said. "Just say you have to go and leave. It's not safe here for you. I'm worried about what Judy might do to you."
"Oh?" he said. "What do you mean?"
"I can't explain exactly, but she's not safe tonight."
Daniel was not sure why Betty was telling him this, but he felt that she was sincere. "Okay, I'll tell Steve I'm feeling sick or something."
"Good," Betty said and walked back to the front room with Daniel behind her.
Daniel found Amy and Steven making out on the couch with his hands roughly squeezing her tits.
"Dude," Daniel said. "I'm not feeling good. We should go."
Steven looked over at Daniel and said, "You crazy, dude? No way."
"Yeah," Amy said. "Don't go."
"I'm not going anywhere," Steven said and started making out with Amy again.
Daniel stepped back and stood next to Betty. "I tried," he said. Betty sighed and walked over to the stairs and took a seat on them. Daniel decided to join her on the stairs. "What's going on, anyway."
Betty sighed. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Let's just say that things aren't really they way they look right now."
Daniel had no idea how to respond. He noticed that Betty seemed quite pretty when not being compared with the other women.
"If your friend won't go, then maybe you should go without him."
"I can't," Daniel said. "I mean, he's my ride here, and he's my bro. You know? I can't just ditch him."
Betty gave him a slight smile. "You sound like a good friend. I wish I had a friend like you."
"The other girls aren't your friends?"
"They are, but..." She sighed. "They just treat me like crap a lot of the time. They think I'm the runt, the loser. They don't say it, but I know that's what they think about me."
"I think you're very pretty," Daniel said and immediately blushed. He was not sure where those words had come from. Maybe the alcohol had gone to his head more than he realized.
She smiled. "Thank you," she said. "You're... pretty too." She put her hand on his, and he leaned in closer to her. Just as they were about to kiss Betty pulled away and said, "Judy!"
Daniel looked over at Judy who was blowing up a red balloon.
