Justin plugged the device in and it fired up requesting a download of the new updates released for testing. A moment later a popup explained a number of bug fixes and new features the tool offered.
Justin clicked the box away and tried to decide what to do first, and to who. As he thought about it, he realized that he had a lot of payback to dish out. Craig was a bully but, the entire school laughed at him when he tripped in the lunchroom, and when he was scared of the bee and got stung trying to swat it away. Then there are the teachers who treat him like he's trying to sneak off to do heroin when he asks to use the toilet. Yes... all of them need to get some comeuppance.
Justin began going through the settings and one of the new features allowed him to not select a subject but target a random person within 20 feet and he could even exclude himself... Justin planned and schemed and came up with a plan.
He is going to set the device up on a computer at school, he easily made it so nobody within the 20 foot range would find the chronivac out of place or mess with it beyond what he sets up. With security set up, he began to input the rest of the commands relying heavily on the new natural language processing feature.
Whoever is within range will be compelled to use the computer if they haven't already, otherwise they would leave it alone but encourage others to use it. While at the computer they would answer honestly and seriously. They will believe they are being asked a survey with three questions. The first, "If you could have any skill, trait, quality, or ability, magical or otherwise, what would it be?" The second, "What is a completely different trait or effect that would be as bad to have, as the answer to your first question is good?" The third question, "If these were to be enacted on someone, how long should it take to go into effect? (up to 48 hours)"
Once done, they would leave the computer and find another, leaving the survey open to effect others and those who took the survey would be compelled to stay away from the computer as those who hadn't are drawn to it. Obviously, the effects the users put down will be enacted in the time frame chosen, and they will forget their answers. Justin set it up so reality will change for all but him, so he can watch the show. The chronivac will send him an email daily summarizing all the users and answers so he could watch expectantly as people change and cope with their new lives.
The next day Justin set the Chronivac up in the computer lab and turned it on. he decided it is the perfect place to set this up as it will get both the high school and middle school classes, as well as teachers. By lunchtime the cafeteria was buzzing with students recommending a cool survey in the computer lab but nobody remembered the questions or answers they put. After lunch his English teacher recommended to the class that they take their free period to check out the survey and Justin barely kept from bursting out laughing. This meant the teacher's lounge will soon be buzzing with the recommendation... and then all classes will have the urge to take the survey... Justin had won... he did it...
