At the end of the alley Nate finds a beach with a little peir jutting out. The carnival appears to be empty now. The sounds of donkeys braying is coming from some of the buildings, and you notice that there are a lot of balloon animals laying around on the ground. They could be like you. If you could speak to Nate you would tell him to grab one.
"I think its deserted, or people have noticed what is happening and they are hiding. Lets get to the beach." Nate makes a break for it and stops suddenly.
In front of him there is another balloon donkey laying sideways in a pile of clothes. It doesnt seem able to move. Now that you think about it, you cant move anymore either.
Nate stoops down and picks it up. "You are coming with us. I have an idea."
Tucking the other balloon under his arm he dashes on to the beach and in to the waves. An angry shout behind him reveals that he has been noticed. You are unable to turn your head and see who it is, but Nate ignores them and runs, leaping, until he cant touch the ground and has to start swimming.
Under each arm you both support his weight. Its a long swim back to shore. After a few minutes of kicking Nate talks to you, or to your new friend, you cant tell.
"Um guys? I wanted to first thank you for floating me up. I feel light with my tail and all, but I think that something is happening. I feel lighter."
Nate stops and looks down at his legs, between you and the other donkey lodged firmly under his arms. To his surpise his feet are shrikning, filling with air and turning to cute little balloon donkey hooves.
"My feet. Im loosin' em. We have to hurry. I dont think we are far enough from the island yet."
After a few minutes Nate swims up to shore and stand on the sand, his feet are shaky, his balloon legs are having a hard time supporting him and his balloon tail in back is helping him balance.
The beach looks deserted but there is a roofline on the horizon. You made it. You are off the island, but you dont feel any different.
