Samantha is enjoying the experience of hanging out with her cousin now that the two are almost the same age. Back when they were kids, Diana was so much younger Samantha saw her more as an annoyance than anything else. Sure they had gotten closer once Diana turned 18 and Samantha was excited to be asked to be a bridesmaid, but the relationship was so much different now. The two were more like childhood friends than cousins now.
What is a bit weird, is Samantha's memory. She remembers everything about her old life, but mixed in are memories of her new life. She remembers things like the law school education she just finished, Diana taking her out to have her "first drink" when she turned 21, and all other sorts of experiences and events. With all these new memories flooding her mind, Samantha worries about what will happen when the rest of the bridesmaids arrive and she shaves off a few more years.
As it stands, she has a terrible migraine. She once again excuses herself to the bathroom, brushing off concern from Diana and Rachel. There she finds and takes some aspirin. Her head is just starting to stop throbbing, when she hears Diana greeting someone at the entrance. Samantha wonders who this new arrival is and what it is going to mean for her.
