Owen, Lucas, and I have known each other since Pre-K. We’re a tight group of friends that have stuck together through thick and thin. Even though we go to different colleges now, we always come back to our hometown and know that we can find good times when we hang out.
This time was no different than others at least that’s what we thought at the start. It was winter break when we decided to head down to the old warehouses. It was the three of us but Owen’s little brother Dylan tagged along. We didn’t really want to hang out with him but he was somewhat of a whiner. He would complain to Owens mother saying that he never gets to see him but he never gets to tagalong. It’s kind of pathetic at his age he’s 16 but he doesn’t seem to know better.
Owen is tall and traditionally Handsome,A masculine figure with blonde hair and ice cold blue eyes. Lucas is a bit shorter than Owen, but he’s brought a shoulder and he works out a lot. We think he may have something of a complex. Then there’s me, Derek- I’m not muscular but I do you like to run so I keep yourself in shape even when I’m at school, despite all the homework. Of course I can’t forget to describe Dylan who is quite unlike Owen in a lot of ways. He’s not particularly short but he’s scrawny and he has thick glasses he also dresses in a modest fashion, to be frank he’s kind of nerdy.
As our Motley Crue slipped through a gap in a window in one of the warehouses, We joked and Gavin about our experts at college. Dylan awkwardly chuckled and tried to participate in our conversation but he honestly just does not understand our lives. And it was hard for us to not be somewhat resentful of this kid who decided to interject himself into our chance to reconnect and enjoy each other’s presences.
It’s not like I hate the kid, but I have been friends with Owen since as long as I could remember and Dylan was always just a stinker following us around. He would throw tantrums when he was younger, and acted very spoiled. Owen, Lucas,And I were not the kind of rowdy boys that got up to too much trouble, but we were adventurous. And when Dylan was around he was often too afraid to commit to our Mission.
In hindsight I realize that he was probably just jealous or rather envious. He was never as athletic as Owen but he also was not a social butterfly. Being with us was like having friends and that was something he didn’t have of his own. I shouldn’t have been surprised that he'd find our friendship attractive.
Exploring the old warehouse, we were nearly ready to bail when Lucas ripped a board straight off a doorway. It was previously concealed, but Lucas had a hunch. Peering through the gap, we noticed a small room filled with crates. Each crate had a logo stamped on the side.
SWITCHJUICE
We had never heard of it. Helping Lucas, we rapidly broke through the rest of the boards. We were excited to check out the contents.
