"I can't bear the thought of my own brother's baby growing inside my body," Chelsea muttered, dejectedly. "I can take being a mother. Just... get this thing out of me."
"You make it sound so awful, baby sister," Jeff said. "But, I'm as good as my word." He reached both hands out and cupped Chelsea's tight teen tummy. The Chronivac whirred inside him, and a few seconds later, he placed a complete, newborn baby in Chelsea's arms.
"No," Chelsea said, trying to push the baby away. "Don't give me that—" But as she locked eyes with her newborn baby daughter, her expression changed. It was definitely her baby, and the bond was instant. She was in love.
Jeff looked at his sister, holding their baby in her arms. She looked so beautiful, her hair perfectly composed, her skin so smooth, and the baby was everything she needed. If he had thought he was in love with his sister before, it was nothing compared to how he felt right now.
After a moment's hesitation, Jeff put his arm around Chelsea's shoulder. She tensed at his touch, but just for a fraction of a second. Right now, she only had eyes for her baby. Brother and sister looked down together at their perfect newborn. Jeff really felt like part of a family.
"I know this wasn't what you had planned, Chelsea," Jeff said, and slid his hand down to stroke the small of her back. "I know you never wanted to get raped, or to have an incest baby. But right now, little sister, I am so in love with you, and with our daughter."
Slowly, reluctantly, Chelsea turned to look at her big brother. She had such mixed feelings. Anger at his violence, at his taking her choice away. But that was swallowed up by the love she felt for her baby. And she couldn't have had that without him, right?
Right?
"Listen," James said, "I think I know exactly what we need to do to make this right."
