Before Juliana could answer, Jill herd a slight whistling followed by a "Die, werewolf!" but by the time the man spoke, she had already grabbed the crossbow bolt that was supposed to kill her. "Be careful Dany, you could have hurt granny" coldly said the teen, now in some sort of half-human, half-wolf form.
Danyor for his part, was stunned. It was the first time he ever heard a werewolf speak. Before he could recover, a furious Juliana Yelled "DAN! Can I know why you're trying to kill my grand-daughter?!?"
"Because I thought she was dangerous? She's a werewolf, you know…"
"Yes, I do. So was my ex-husband. But Ray never hurt me, nor did he try to."
"Wait! You KNEW?!?"
"Yes, Ray demonstrated his ability to turn into a wolf once things started to get serious between us. The only times he couldn't control said power was during the new moon, where he couldn't turn into a wolf, and the full moon, where he couldn't stay human. But even then, he stayed in perfect control of himself, as does Jill." That last affirmation prompted said teen wolf to nod.
"That… That's good. Maybe I don't need to kill all werewolves my cursing caused, then."
The surprised girls asked in unison "Are you saying You made the curse?!?"
"Yeah, I… I'm the one who cursed your great grand-father." He said, looking at Jill. "I thought it would make him shy away from the world, for fear of killing everyone around, but instead he simply didn't care. Then the ghost of my little Selena appeared to me furious. She said I had simply made a bigger problem. She gave me the power to sense werewolves when I'm near them but took away my ability to age and die in exchange, and I won't be able to until I cleaned my mess."
"Why not simply break the curse?" wondered Juliana.
"I did it for the initial carrier of the curse. But the others? They are cursed since conception. It let the curse bond with them at a level so profound, it literally became a part of them. Breaking the curse would kill them, and in rather horrid fashion. That's why I killed all werewolves I've met so far, and why I will let Jill live with it."
Jill released a breath she didn't know she was holding. As much as she pestered about the full and new moons, she didn't want to loose her wolf side.
…And wanted even less to die, whatever the fashion.
They were all thinking it was the end of it, at least in regard of Jill, but then a ghost appeared. "Se–Selena?!?"
